Duplicacy unraid1/10/2024 I am not sure how long this has been going on for but it stops the container properly launching. I have tried restoring the container by re-downloading it but it does not seem to fix the issue. I am getting the following error over and over. You can check out this thread for more details if you decide to go the borg + rclone way, but you will have to modify scripts to use. Borg does have a GUI, Vorta, but you still need another program to get your backups to the cloud, like rclone. Nothing else exists that matches all those requirements. I haven't explored thay yet fully, but will report back how it works. Some recommendations I have seen were to use Borg, and to use just use rclone to copy over the files(or the rclone uoload/mount/unmount script) used on furms. needs a free GUI (Duplicacy is close alternative, but with CLI version being only version that's free, this is not intuitive to use and especially restore via command line) not beta, and that can actually restore without taking weeksĥ. can store to cloud as encrypted, splitted filesĤ. Do you know of alternatives of tools that are:ģ. so there are not lots of alternative in this Duplicati world. I only backup small datasets in comparison to your use case, but still this is worrysome, as the stable version of Duplicati is not even recommended anymore. I had several error messages myself when there were DB issues, and ended up deleting everything and starting fresh, but never had to simulate a catastrophic failure. (delete your docker container / duplicati config, and try a restore as if you had a catastrophic failuer) If you are relying on duplicati for your primary backup, I recommend you google the above msg, and test your back. Google duplicati recreating database for similar stories. This seems to be a well known problem with this software. I bring down all the files from the cloud, and looks like the restore will take about 9 days, even when running from local disk. A 40GB restore from a 600GB backup, is tracking on taking about 20 days. Whatever code performs this task is broken. Since the database of files was lost with the duplicati docker, duplicati has to rebuild the database. No sweat, I had a backup of the config.Īfter restoring the config, I tried to restore a backup of the ~20GB file containing my docker backups. I recently lost my cache drive which means the I lost all my docker containers and duplicati config. My end goal is to backup most things to the cloud, and do the same backup to local storage with some additional extra stuff that's not critical to replicate to B2 storage, but something I still want to keep around.A public service announcement regarding duplicati.ĭuplicati is still in beta ( which this container runs) Is anyone running Duplicacy for years now without issue? Can it replicate to local backup locations as well? At least CrashPlan Pro worked, albeit slowly. Is this a valid strategy or should I just be doing something else entirely? I'm becoming a bit frustrated with these backup apps. I understand a personal-use license is $20 for the first year then just $5/year after that? I can deal with that, not too bad. Not something I want to keep messing with. Upon looking further this happens to people a lot, seemingly after a few months their DBs get messed up and unrecoverable and they have to setup a new backup or manually repair the DB. I tried setting up Duplicati (I really liked that it was free, and seemed to be a very popular LSIO container) and that worked for for a number of months but last night the database corrupted itself and used a whole ton of B and C calls to B2 and drove up my bill. I spent probably 2 or 3 weeks testing it out and it always resulted in failure, wasn't worth the time anymore after they told me they'd never support it. I tried using CloudBerry but it kept erroring out on a TON of files and CloudBerry support wouldn't help since it's running on an unsupported setup in docker. I use to be with CrashPlan until my specail promo pricing ran out, ditched that entirely now and cancelled my account, as I was paying way more than the storage I'd use on BackBlaze B2 Hi all, I'm sure this is a popular thing people do, but long story short.
